I get salad at a local salad place where you go in and choose your ingredients and then they put all the ingrediants you chose for your salad including the type of lettuce into a chopping machine. What comes out is yummy chopped evenly mixed ingrediants in a matter of seconds.
So I tried doing this in my food processor and no matter how little I tried pulsing it- it cut the pieces of my salad way too little- almost to a salsa. Especially the leaves of lettuce.
What kind of chopper do you think these guys use. I’d really like to get one. I would totally eat more salads if all I had to do to make one was dump all the ingrediants in a machine at once and it spit out a nicely chopped salad.

I want to buy a food processor, but I’m having my doubts. I will be using it for onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, carrots, etc. Will this appliance chopped things as neatly as the pictures of the box show. Sometimes recipes ask for onions or peppers in stripes not in little chunks, will I be able to do this. Everyone uses their food processors to make pesto and hummus and that kind of stuff, but the thing is I love to eat salads but I hate to chopped everything myself I’m kind of slow with the knife, and I like to cook my meats with onions and peppers and lots of stuff. So, will this appliance help me?? I don’t want a big pile of veggie dough. Thanks!

I am eating healthy these days and bought a food processor to help me make soups, salads, sauces, etc. I’ve seen the chefs on TV throw ingredients or cooked soups into food processors, push a button and puree everything quickly. I tried to make my first sauce a few days ago, a marinade with herbs and vinegar and such, and when I turned the food processor on, the ingredients quickly flew to the outside of the bowl and refused to be chopped. I scooped it all back to the middle and tried again, but none of the ingredients came together or were even chopped a little bit. Is my food processor broken? Am I doing it wrong? Or is a blender just a better appliance for the job? Thanks!
There are only two blads and the other is for slicing, so it has to be the right one. The blades are brand new and sharp. It’s probably the small quanity that caused the problem. I will never be processing that much, so perhaps a blender or immersion blender is better for me.
