Food Processor broke, what is best replacement?
My food processor won’t work any more. It’s old and where the top has to fit into the lip in order to allow it to work has broken.
It’s a Hamilton Beach with all the different blades. I’ve loved it and used it for years, but now I have to get a new one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Hamilton Beach also…It depends if your model is still on the market…if not you might have a difficult time finding that particular part…I love mine and would hate if it broke…But I would buy another Hamilton Beach…

Try eBay – you might find such an entire used food processor for less than what most parts places charge for a single part.
The best replacement (if you mean substitute) for a food processor really depends on what you used your food processor for. Sometimes a blender will work, but not always.

Mw, firstly check with Hamilton Beach, some parts are interchangeable, I agree with Califir. But for a couple of years we have been testing brands of appliances (gee it’s great to be on the users list), so far we are impressed with KITCHENAID products, for the exception of a couple of the pot items.

Home kitchen food processors run the range $30 Black & Decker 8-cup units (FP1600B) up over $700 for high-end Cuisinart 20-cup units. Important factors for choosing between food processors are bowl capacity, power, and warranty.
You could stick with Hamilton Beach and get a Big Mouth (70573H) for only about $60 — good value for a 14-cup machine.
If you want to try something new, check out the Braun Multiquick (K650) for $150. It does have a smaller capacity (9-cup) than the Big Mouth but has 20% more power (600 watts). It also has a dough blade, which the Big Mouth lacks, and lots of blades. It’s very highly regarded by Amazon reviewers (4.7 stars over 91 reviews currently).
